Please Donate Wipes to Keep SCCEA Members Safe

I am reaching out to our membership to ask for your help.  Many of our coworkers are still reporting to work in Central Islip and they are in dire need of Lysol or Clorox wipes.  Although, each and every day the courtrooms, elevators, staircases, etc are being wiped down and cleaned, employees still need to wipe down their own personal workspace. Corporate Source will not do this for fear they will damage personal property or computer equipment on people's desks. It is very difficult to get Lysol or Clorox Wipes so I am reaching out to the membership to ask, if anyone sees these items in Coscto or BJ's, would they consider picking some up  for our coworkers who are working at the courthouse and interacting with the public each day? They are on the front lines serving the public and they need our help. The Clorox and Lysol wipes would help supplement the cleaning that Corporate Source is doing each day. My understanding is that Costco has a "soft opening", 30-40 minutes prior to the scheduled opening time, for first responders.  First responders are also given priority and are moved to the front of any lines. Starting Monday, May 4th, Costco will be open from 9-10 AM, Monday thru Friday, exclusively for people over age 60. You would have to check with BJ's to see if they extend similar courtesies.

Over the last few days we have seen a few more people testing positive in the Family Court.  That is the location in which interaction with the public is at its greatest. Keeping work surfaces clean is a must if we hope to stop the spread of the virus. The best way to ensure that our personal workspace is clean would be to clean it ourselves with Lysol or Clorox wipes.

If you are able to help, please drop off the items at the magnetometer stations at the Family Court entrance and the District/Supreme Court entrance in Central Islip. I sincerely  thank everyone in advance for all of your anticipated support to this cause.  Please stay safe.
